Andil Fatokinsi, 20, of Philadelphia, was initially pursued by Pennsylvania State Police on his way to the Lansdale Post Office, located at 20 Vine Street, where he was eventually arrested by borough police, according to an affidavit Daily Voice obtained on Thursday, Oct. 24. He was only supposed to be picking up his last paycheck.
Fatokinsi's supervisor reported to the Lansdale Borough police that he'd gotten a text message that read, "Hello mama's boy, I'm on my way," at 9:30 on Friday, Oct. 11, the affidavit states. The supervisor didn't recognize the phone number and asked who was texting. The response was, "Andil."
Fatokinsi continued to send threatening messages to the supervisor, resulting in a call to police, according to the affidavit. A police officer texted Fatokinsi at 9:51 a.m. and tried to get him to report to the police station, but he told them they'd better meet him at the Lansdale Post Office.
The ex-postal worker showed up inside the front lobby of the post office and told his former supervisor, “You think I’m scared of cops … You are going to be my first body," the affidavit states.
The supervisor ordered other employees away from the area and told them to shelter inside the building thinking that Fatokinsi was armed with a gun.
When police arrived, they found an unoccupied white Toyota Camry with the license plate "ANDIL F" blocking the post office's employee exit, according to the affidavit. Officers met
Lansdale police detained Fatokinsi before turning him over to state police, who had pursued him earlier that morning as he sped toward his former place of employment, the affidavit states.
That chase began on Route 309 in Lower Gwynedd Township with the Camry speeding and cutting off other vehicles, according to the affidavit. A trooper pursued Fatokinsi onto Welsh Road in Horsham Township, but had to end their pursuit due to the risk to public safety.
Fatokinsi was charged separately by both police agencies, according to court documents.
The Lansdale Borough Police Department charged him with:
- Felony Terroristic Threats Cause Serious Public Inconvenience.
- Misdemeanor Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another.
- Summary Course of Conduct with No Legitimate Purpose.
His preliminary hearing for these charges is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 13. Bail was denied for these charges, court documents state.
Pennsylvania State Police in Philadelphia are charging Fatokinsi with:
- Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer.
- Summary Driving at Safe Speed.
- Summary Disregard Traffic Lane (Prohibited).
- Summary Careless Driving.
- Summary Turning Movements and Required Signals.
A preliminary hearing for these charges is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31, according to court documents. Bail for these charges is set at $5,000.
Fatokinsi is being held in Montgomery County Prison, according to court documents.
